Looking at this photo of a marketplace street 商店街 near my apartment in Nishi-Ogu 西尾久, Arakawa-ku 荒川区 (Tokyo) makes me tremendously nostalgic. I used to return here in the dark when the greengrocers and other various tiny businesses were closing up for the night. If I managed to make it earlier in the evening, I would sometimes buy vegetables. (Having a supermarket across the street from my apartment building didn’t exactly motivate me to come here, though.)

I meant to go hiking today, but ended up wanting to do things at home before going to dinner and a concert tonight. Instead of actually hiking, I’ll post a picture from a past hike. Nice leaves in Susquehannock State Park, in Lancaster County PA.

One of my all time favorites. It’s inspired a lot of paintings and drawings since then too. I took this on a beach outside Seattle.

A view of the Hudson River driving on the NYS Thruway (I-90). Taken blindly out the window.

From a visit to Pittsburgh many years ago. The date on Flickr says 2007 but I’d put it at 2005. This was in the Quiet Storm’s bathroom. It’s since closed, but used to be in Garfield (a neighborhood of Pittsburgh).
