Looking at this photo of a marketplace street 商店街 near my apartment in Nishi-Ogu 西尾久, Arakawa-ku 荒川区 (Tokyo) makes me tremendously nostalgic. I used to return here in the dark when the greengrocers and other various tiny businesses were closing up for the night. If I managed to make it earlier in the evening, I would sometimes buy vegetables. (Having a supermarket across the street from my apartment building didn’t exactly motivate me to come here, though.)

greengrocer

Here’s one of my very favorites. I almost never take pictures of people, but I was rude and did it this day because the scene was so perfect. This is in 8th Street Station on the Market-Frankford Line in Philadelphia.

Taken at a photo shoot in Fall 2013 with a meetup group that disbanded after just a few sessions. Nice people. This is a farmer’s market setup time in Rittenhouse Square on an early Saturday morning.
